The Maliotis Cultural Center of the Hellenic College – Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in Boston is deeply honored to host the 10th International Summer University “Greek Language, Culture, and Mass Media” on its premises.
From May 28 to June 4, 2024, panhellenic educators, students, and graduate researchers will participate in an intensive and in-depth study of various topics that regard the teaching of the Greek language, the particular educational methodology in diaspora schools, the use of new technological teaching aids, the usefulness of mass media, and more. The program will take place under the guidance of its founder, Professor Nikoletta Tsitsanoudis–Mallidis, Professor of Linguistics and Greek Language at the Department of Early Childhood Education of the University of Ioannina, Associate of the Harvard CHS – GR, and Head of the unit “Greek Language, Culture, and Mass Media,” of the Social Issues, Mass Media, and Education Studies Laboratory at the Department of Early Childhood Education of the University of Ioannina. AHEPA co-organizes the program, in which exceptional U.S. universities and institutions also participate.
We are proud because our cultural center will serve as a bridge connecting the Greek academic community that studies the Greek language and culture with their fellow colleagues in the diaspora, especially those in the U.S.A. Furthermore, we express our joy because the 20th International Summer University will take place under the auspices and with the support of the General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad and Public Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and because accomplished media outlets in Greece and the Greek diaspora will support the program as communication sponsors.
As a cultural center, we are committed to the fine operation of the International Summer University on our premises. We wish everyone who will actively participate that they gain knowledge, reflect positively on the program’s work, and complete their attendance with creative inspiration to contribute, every one of them, to the promotion of Greek letters worldwide.
